I've been buying Costco cheapie socks for years, and dealing with the holes and massive piles of lint that follow. They have a pretty short service life, and I would say I'm not all that hard on them.

I bought a pair of "tough" socks (wool, made in VT) for $30CAD more as a joke than anything, but now that I've worn them a couple of times and experienced a level of comfort I never thought possible, I want to get more. I'm just wondering if the BIFL is there, so that r/personalfinance doesn't yell at me for the big price tag.
