Shocked to find hardwoods from 1957 are in decent shape when we pulled up carpet today to put in LVP flooring. My dad is going to help us clean it up and little recommended that we rent a sander. The (wide) perimeter of the room, has floors in almost perfect shape. The middle of the room has a lot of wear and some discoloring. My research says I have 2 rental options. #1 an orbital, which I worry may not get up enough of the discolored area. #2 A drum sander which I am scared will over-do it and leave marks.
