There's a subreddit called /r/gamesale where you swap/sell items related to video games. I won't name the user who scammed me in fear of getting banned for witchhunting.
Anyways, i listed up my nintendo switch and copy of pokemon sword on that subreddit with payment via PayPal or Cashapp. He contacts me saying he's interested and that he'll pay for priority shipping since he needs it ASAP. Wow, this is great. When it comes to the payment, he links me a substantial reputation history with at least 400 trades on there. It's surreal. So i offer to send the package first and he said he'll pay me when the tracking info is updated.
First thing in the morning, i ship him out the Switch and game. I message him but he says he's at work and he can't talk for a few hours, which is fine. I'm completely comfortable now due to this reputation.
Then he gets home, and tells me that since his address isn't on the USPS tracking page (which it isnt) - he can't send the funds yet. So he says to wait for it to arrive. I had a bad feeling but he's trustworthy and did have a point.
The next day, USPS shows delivered and he hasn't responded to any of my messages in 2 days. I needed this money for college books. I'm currently broke.
So in a panic i google the address he sent me, and it turns out i shipped it to a US reshipping company called Shipito. I'm assuming he had me ship it there so that he can safely ship it to his actual address without revealing his name or where he lives.
Does anyone know anything i can do here to get my funds back? Please.
