And budgeting by months isn’t helpful or practical because the budget will show I have money available for X despite I don’t because I still haven’t gotten the 2nd check. It only matters if I’ve gotten both checks.
So I would budget $300 for food a month. I split it in half for each check. So now I subtract $150 from my first check, etc. I do this with gas too. And now I have a way clearer picture of what I have available until my next check. And another budget for my 2nd check.
Why in my 26 years of living I’ve never thought about it like this.
