Occasionally I'll get packages shipped where I get huge sheets of bubble wrap or that thin foamy stuff.
It's a pain to recycle this stuff, so I thought, why not reuse it. I took the thin foam sheet, and placed it between a loveseat, and the wall it was pushed up against. Later, I checked the temp difference, because the sheet wasn't big enough to cover the whole back, and no surprise, the foam insulated side was warmer than the non insulated side. I have pretty poory insulated exterior walls.
I also got a lot of thick foam sheeting from mattress recycling centers (they're trying give this stuff away) and I do the same for dresser drawers, beds, desks, that are against exteroir walls.
It would have been waste anyways, so every little bit helps.
