I had knocked the original infinite switch with a pot, breaking it, so I called up a Jenn-Air parts supplier and got a replacement switch for my model. It isn't identical to the original, but they assured me it will work.It seems rather straightforward to replace. 5 wires marked P, L1, L2, H1, H2. Just match the wires to the new switch and put it all back together! And with a bit of testing, it seemed that all was well, the burner operated at all positions as I expected.Except, on the new switch, it has H0/H1 instead of H1/H2. And while it works, it behaves wrongly once the second burner in the series is switched on.Turning the back burner on (with original switch, first in series), and then turning on front burner (new switch, second in series), the front burner will only operate at high. It ignores what you have set the switch to, and only operates at high.I understand that P goes to the light switch to indicate its on, L1/L2 are where the power comes in and goes out, and H1/H2 are for which heating elements are activated based on switch position on a 3 phase switch. Here is what one parts supplier says about the wiring differences.WIRING TECH SUPPORT:THE NEW SWITCH WILL HAVE A DIFFERENT TERMINAL CONFIGURATION, BUT CONNECTION IS EASY AND AS FOLLOWS:SIMPLY CONNECT L1 to L1, L2 to L2, P to P. FOR H1 on OLD SWITCH, CONNECT TO HC ON NEW SWITCH. FOR H2 on OLD SWITCH, CONNECT TO H1 ON NEW SWITCH.I'm pretty sure my switch says H0 instead of HC, but perhaps I was reading it wrong. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2Wd8bfh
