Have been lurking for a while and surprised to see this hasn't been mentioned. To my understanding, this is the modern day bible for simple living and understanding how individuals have been hurt by technological progress. Trust me when I say read the whole thing (no shortcuts / summaries / TL;DRs). It's worth it.
