I just had a baby on 9/29 which allows me to adjust my company benefits due to a life changing event.
I also am going to have exploratory surgery in the next few weeks to biopsy a large mass in my stomach that could be malignant.
My question is: what benefits and uses of company elections can the community think of to maximize this well timed opportunity to change my bens.
I have most available as options. Critical illness coverage, hospital indemnity, STD, LTD, AD&D, additional life insurance, accident insurance.
Any other planning ideas to help the family out are appreciated as well.
