Hi everyone! Sorry if this is redundant but I did search the sub and the last post I found was a little outdated so I wanted some current input.
In April I finally had enough of sleeping on the free futon I was given, and decided to take the plunge on a real bed. I found the perfect frame on FB marketplace for $60, and did tons of research and decided on one of those boxes mattresses for about $200. I absolutely love it and have no complaints. However it came out in conversation when we were staying at a friend’s house that my boyfriend hates the mattress. Of course the return period had already ended. He claims he felt bad saying anything because I loved it so much, when I’m not really that picky and all I loved was the fact that it was a decent mattress that I could sleep well on for $200!
He says it’s too firm for him, so I want to look into a soft mattress pad since I’m not buying a whole new mattress. I learned a long time ago that part of being “frugal” is knowing when to spend a little more money so you don’t have to replace it often and spend more in the long run, so I am willing to spend a bit more on something that will hold up well. Does anyone have any suggestions? Not sure of the quality at “cheap” stores like DG or Wal-Mart.
