I have both a ceramic and oil-filled heater, and I'm looking into using outlet timers to turn them off at 1:30AM, when I am asleep and won't feel the change in heat. I hope this can save power and make them safer.
However, has anyone had problems with electrical heaters being damaged/broken if turned off abruptly (without turning the dial to off or hitting the button)?
