YSK that using credit card rewards for shopping items on their marketplace is wasteful. Almost always an item will cost less than half credit and then buy the item somewhere else.

For example, American Express lists Samsonite Tectonic Backpack for 104 dollars.

The same item is 54 dollars on Amazon. So if you just credit the rewards back to your account as statement credit and buy it from Amazon you save 50 dollars
