Has anyone been sneered at for your frugal choices? Rant alert.

Here's what happened to me this afternoon; never experienced anything like it before.

I'm in Kroger, for one reason because they have a promotion where if you buy $45.00 of qualifying pet products, you receive $15.00 off at the register. One of the qualifying products is a 35 pound bucket of Tidy Cats cat litter. On sale for $14.99, so three buckets (plus one .80 can of cat food to make up the difference) comes out to $10.00 and change for each bucket. That's a very good price for 35 pounds of cat litter, and I was happy to be able to stock up, as I have 5 cats to care for. So there's my cart loaded down with 105 pounds of cat litter, and this 25-something couple walks past me. One of them said something to the other, I didn't catch it, but I turned around just in time to see the woman looking back at me and smirking. I'm sure it was something about all the litter because the buckets were stacked up and teetering in the cart and I could barely see around them. It just made me mad. I bought that cat litter out of my food money. It's none of their business.

And, on an unrelated note but just part of the bad voodoo, I was really craving some Russell Stover Pecan Delights, but they cost too much. Choice of a tiny box "on sale" for $3.50, or the regular size for $7.99. So I didn't buy any. But, I have a box of Ghirardelli chocolate chip cookie mix I stocked up on for $1.79 around Christmas, so I will be making that this evening, and will be perfectly satisfied with the substitution.

Anyway, I got my good deal on cat litter. If I paid the regular $17.99 price, it would have been $53.97 instead of $30.00, so forget those rude losers.
