To help with full body pain and muscle spasms, my wife got me a heated mattress pad made by Sunbeam. The heat has done wonders for me. But I am seriously annoyed at how...fragile they are.
The problem is, in 5 years, we've gone through SIX of them. Two died after a single wash (despite doing so exactly as directed in the user manual) two failed and flashed the lights, indicating some fault (no mention of this in the manual, so no clue what the fault was) and one just stopped working with no warning.
The current one on the bed appears to be failing slowly. When new, level 3 was high enough to kill pain but a bit too warm for sleeping. Now, I have both sides set to 5 (max) and my side is only slightly warmer than 1 used to be and my wife's side is even cooler.
I know that there are other manufacturers of these pads, but have no experience with any of them. Does any one here have a pad by another company that has proven endurance?
