So tonight i had an awful shift, i had so much work to do and ended up staying till 1 am when i was supposed to end at 11:30/12 pm. I work in the UK. I have a train i need to catch by 00:58 otherwise i need to wait for the buss at 2:33 and basically get home around 4am each night. Tonight i had enough, after working my ass off and not having anyone come help me once they were done, i asked my manager if he could change my shifts to be during the day and not afternoon only for this whole week. He replied with "you were told you could potentially work till 1am". This, i am sure, i was not! I have started working here a little time ago and i was told i would lose my holiday hours and i would have to come in for work this week for i have to give 1 a one week notice. I said i would not come in this week, wrote this along with my resignation on a piece of paper, signed it and left.
What fees am i going to pay or what is going to happen now? I am a student and it is the first time for me quitting a job. I am angry and frustrated but i am 100% sure my decision is right, i do not feel respected by my coworkers or my managers and no matter how hard i work i do not get any recognition from anyone. Please let me know if there is anything else i need to be aware of or that i need to do.
