In North America, most telecom companies (afaik) charge pretty steep rates for everything. How do you guys find deals for phones? Can you enjoy the luxury of mobile data on the cheap, or do you manage with just calls urgent things/emergencies?
Currently, since I actually need my phone very rarely, I just carry a gift card for my cell company and activate it when I need it. Gift cards don't seem to expire after 30 days like a leftover balance does.
