I am heading to college next fall and will be semi-financially independent for the first time. My mom will help me pay for college tuition, but room and board (for the most part) and any other expenses (textbooks, etc.) will be on me. I only have about $4,000 saved currently, and $2,000 of that is in a Roth IRA. What can/should I do to prepare for the recession?
