Hi,

Saw a similar question from a while ago on here, so hoping I'm posting in the right sub.

I have bipolar mania. Combined that with a .37 blood alcohol content, I launched myself and car into a shipping channel. I made it out unscathed and spent a few days in the looney bin. Me being alive is a miracle.

Anyways. I owe the city about $20K, towing services about $5K, and the vehicle was worth about $7K actual cash value. This is expensive as hell due to dive teams, coast guard, police boats, a crane, you name it... in like 50 feet of water.

I called another insurance company so as not to give myself away (it was GEICO) and asked some hypotheticals. What I have gathered so far is that collision may cover this as FL is no fault, which apparently would include suicide. I have collision up to $100K so that is a relief.

But, does comprehensive cover? Has anyone had any experience with this type of crazy insurance claim?

I just want to get my ducks in a row, so-to-speak and handle this as cheaply as possible. The medical bills alone are going to kill me.

Any insurance experts on here?

Thanks for any advice on how to save my ass financially!!!
