We have a 17 year old dryer. It died. It runs for about 20 mins and then dies. 20 mins later it may come back on.We took it apart and everything looked fine - so we just cleaned the lint that was back there and decided it was probably the motor. We did not take the motor out.We put it back together and doing a test run to see if cleaning it helped. It didn’t - it - it cut off again. But - it now has a funny smell - not a burning smell but a funny synthetic type smell - almost like canned air or some other aerosol chemical.Should we just quit at this point? It is that because we agitated all that Iint? Or is that was all motors smell like when they are about to die? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2YXEdQ3
