First time poster, longer time lurker. I'm here looking for a way to convince my dad to be smart. He has amassed 60K in cash and it's just chilling in his account. He's still working his fulltime job that he's been at for 26 years. He desperately wants to quit. His 401K is not great because my mom divorced him 5 years ago....and well took half. He is considering talking to a broker to help him invest that money in stocks, but I am pleading that he doesn't do that. He's asking me for other options, but I think he's trying to make a living off of his cash after he leaves his job. What options can I give him so he doesn't do something he will regret?
Additional info. He has NO debt. He owns his house and lives well below his means. He's quite a frugal person. Just trying to protect him from a bad decision financially this late in life.
