My friend is using a rental management company to manage his house after moving to Mexico. They installed someone that accrued more than ten thousand dollars in necessary repairs. From my understanding they removed a non load bearing wall and destroyed a tile floor in the basement to make a marijuana grow room(s). They left before the end of their lease and abandoned their security deposit. The rental management company informed my friend that they are not liable financially. Are companies like this not obligated to carry insurance in the event that something like this happens?
