Hi,

Brand new to this sub, apologies if my formatting is not perfect. I’ve got an insurance question for you all.

Location: San Jose, Ca

In short I’m asking what waivers/programs are currently available for children with an Autism Diagnosis in the state of California. I have a two year old with an Autism diagnosis whose undergoing behavioral therapy and speech therapy. I have a private health insurance plan for him through Kaiser

The copay I’m responsible for and his health insurance come to nearly a thousand dollars a month. Child care is a steal at only $500 a month.

Problem is I’m currently a single income provider for a family of three making only 50k a year.

Are there any programs or waivers we should be looking into? And does our private insurance plan help us or hurt us with all of this?

If my wife returns to work, making around 35k a year realistically, would we lose any possible access to waivers/programs?

Thanks for your time and consideration.
