Trying to figure out how to get myself out of this mess I have created for myself. I am 26 yo with crazy debt. I have the following:
Student Loans: 126k (and growing...I am on an income based plan paying ~$250 a month)
Parent PLUS Loan: 7,500 (paying $94/month, this is my dad's loan but they make me pay it)
Personal Loans: $17,777 total (paying $797/month total)
1) $5094 (paying $223/month)
2) $4331 (paying 306/month)
3) $2682 (paying $122/month)
4) $5670 (paying $146/month)
Credit Cards: $24, 652 total (paying $477/month)
1) $1300 @ 17.24% (paying minimum $35/month)
2) $1425 @ 22.24% (paying minimum $25/month)
3) $1626 @ 25.49% (paying minimum $25/month)
4) $1922 @ 0% (paying minimum $25/month)
5) $2500 @ 24.49% (paying minimum $47/month)
6) $1388 @ 10.99% (paying minimum $27/month)
7) $9945 @ 20.24% (paying minimum $180/month)
8) $4546 @ 0% (til jan 2020) (paying minimum $86/month)
Other bills/expenses:
Car - I lease a car, $250/month
Car insurance ~ $50/month
Phone - $50/month
Phone loan - $50/month (finishing up in 2 months, phone is in excellent condition so I will keep as long as I can)
Vet - $40/month
Hulu/Spotify/Showtime - $5/month
Groceries - $250/month
Gas - $75/month
Dog expenses - $150/month
I make ~$49k a year, bring home $2800/month
I've culled my expenses as much as I could and I always try to minimize the grocery bill. My dog expenses are non-negotiable, and I would never get rid of my pet so I don't even want to hear that suggestion. I cut cable, then continued on to cut hulu and netflix once I scored the trio through spotify for $4.99 a month.
As of right now, I have about $260 to "snowball" onto my debt, but the interest is killing me. Also, notably missing from my expenses is rent. I am currently living with my parents but that will be changing within the calendar year. I am having a 24/7 panic attack trying to figure out where I will come up with rent + utilities.
I can't really increase my income at this time, there are no higher-paying jobs in my field in my area, to get a raise I would have to move to a different city. I am also salary, so I work crazy hours and then often have to continue working into the night once I get home. I haven't yet figured out how to swing an additional job, but I am always looking.
Mostly I'm just ticked at myself for getting myself into this mess. I need to figure out a plan though, I am giving myself serious anxiety dwelling on this 24/7.
PLEASE HELP!!
