I need to install security cameras in a hurry - repeated break-in attempts this week. So the cameras have arrived and they have 15' long power cables. The camera will be installed high on the outside wall. Is it possible to run the power cable through the inside wall so I can plug it into the inside outlet? Or would there be 2x4 and insulation and stuff in the way? Looking for DIY videos but they talk about wiring through the attic. There is no attic access for these camera locations.I was thinking I'd run the wires inside the wall down to the indoor outlet and plug the ac/dc adaptor in on the inside. I guess that also means drilling a little hole next to the outlet for the adaptor wire to come out of. :/ Basically I'm confused. Electricians are quoting more than I can afford ($175/each). I don't need new wiring work. I just need access work. So I hope I can do this myself. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2O3GOUk
