Hey guys I’m trying to figure out if my friend has any available options to save her credit.
She co-signed her friend a car (my friends name is on the title and registration) with the intentions that she would be reimbursed for the down payment and that the person would eventually take sole responsibility of the car after they build up their credit and re finance
Long story short they went their separate ways and my friend can’t track the person down now. It’s been about a year and half and my friends name is still on the lease , should this person ever decide to not pay it my friend would take the hit as well, is there anything she can do to get her name off the lease?
It’s a 5 year deal and she can’t report it stolen either because technically the other person is a owner as well. What it looks like now is basically a waiting game to see if the person defaults or actually pays the car. Any tips would help thank you in advanced
