I want to hang a 4'x6' pegboard in my garage. I plan to put up three or four 1"x2" horizontal wood strips screwed into studs behind the drywall, then attach the pegboard to the wood strips to keep it secure and offset from the drywall.I can't figure out where the studs are. I mapped out the stud nails with magnets and they don't look right. There are some visible seams in the drywall and the studs are straddling these seams. It looks OK in some places but the 2x4s above the seam don't look aligned with below the seam? Does that even make sense?
