My previous employer offered a 401k, and so does my current one. I was wondering if I should roll over my old 401k into my new employer's, which also offers a ROTH option, which I have selected. Below are the details of the funds.
Employer | Fund Name | Fees | Current amount | Employer match |
---|---|---|---|---|
Old | Vanguard Target 2055 | 0.08% | $57,913.84 | 5% + 4.5% after 1 year |
New | FIAM INX TD 2055 X | 0.1% | N/A | 4% + 3.5% after 3 years |
The two funds are index funds, from what I can tell, that are pretty comparable to each other, but I'm curious if it would be better, both financially and security-wise, for me to roll my old 401k over into an IRA and just start over at my new 401k.
