So in a few days my parents are going to Europe for a month to celebrate my Dad's retirement (35 years as a police officer). We were never poor but a vacation like that is certainly a first for them since they basically invested all of their time and money into my brother and I growing up. I want to surprise/thank them by redoing their deck while they are away and could really use all the advice I can get since my budget isn't all that high since I'm a recent college grad and money is kinda tight. I have pretty much all of the tools and equipment I will need so ill mostly just need the materials and I am in the process of getting permits for the HOA and City. Here is a link to get a view from different angles: http://bit.ly/2WhieDi budget is $800 but I would prefer not to spend that much if possible. Here's a short list of what I have considered so far..Covering the remaining portion of the deck with the same green liner as shown in the image(Main task) Enclosing the portion that is now being covered by the red sunshade with a plastic vinyl cover so that It is completely wind and water proof and can also keep out mosquitos. This needs to have an entrance and exit (similar to this: http://bit.ly/2IcMCVx their Wifi so that it reaches the patio (This one is easy and I have what I need to do it already)Install a deck bar on the furthest end of the deck (similar to this http://bit.ly/2WpJyiR a projector that is facing away from the house with the screen on the opposite end, this one is optional but would be nice. I've seen some affordable projectors on craigslist for about 100-150 but still probably will be out of budget, would be nice though.installing some small fans on the inside of the frameAdding second hand patio furniture if I can find some good deals on craigslist/letgo/etcAny advice on choosing and finding discount material to use for the enclosure, where I can save money on either making or finding the vinyl cover for the walls, making the entrance/exit, and how I can get a projector set up if possible would be greatly appreciated. I really want to give back to them a little and make this a nice surprise for them. via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2Z8sZEZ
