I am new to this site and just recently completed some shelving combined with a saddle rack. Its pretty simple but it was necessary to have enough space in the garage to put my truck in it to work on if necessary. I got the idea for the shelving brackets online and I happened to have some scrap wood around. The brackets are made from 2x4s put together with deck screws that were then attached screwed to the wall. I have some pictures below and the assembly of them is pretty self-explanatory. However, I found that a nice wood clamp was really handy when putting the two pieces together at a 90 degree angle because each hole has to pre drilled to avoid cracking the wood. The 3rd piece of wood the piece with the 45 degree angles was pretty easy to hold in place as I drilled then screwed it together. I used a compound miter saw to cut the 2x4s and a circular saw to cut the plywood The project included 2 more sets of shelves however they were constructed in the same way only without the saddle rack. The saddle rack was just two pieces of 2x4 hung from the brackets with a 2x6 between them. I am sure that a 2x4 would have worked just as well. Here is the picture of the shelf with a saddle rack under it.https://ift.tt/2FFZ3IJ is a close up of one of the brackets that I made.https://ift.tt/2YlA7NZ is a picture of the front of one of the brackets without the saddle rack.https://ift.tt/2FFZ4fL via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2NnXVjo
