Unfortunately I don't have photos to back up these claims, but recently I've lost weight so I've donated most of my clothing and hit the stores to fill up the gaps.
My usual basic staple was Muji(Canada). One thing I always loved about their t-shirts was the stitching being on point. Black and White stripes shirt? Black stitching on sleeves to match up with the pattern and white stitching on the bottom. However, their new in season organic cotton tees had several flaws.
Stitching was wildly different between the same pattern of shirts. Some had the white stitching 100% on the black stripes. Others in the same size had uneven non straight stitching crisscrossing over the white/black stripes. It took me 4 Ls until I found one with no stitching overlapping the black stripes. But by then it was useless, because that's when I noticed clear white stitching on the back neck over the black stripes and down the shouldr. Looked like I was wearing old navy
Sizing was also inconsistent, not as bad as ON but enough to warrant me surprised. One shirt I wore was tighter than the other, while the other one was up to half an inch in length difference.
The whole drop in quality left a bad taste in my mouth and probably has made me 2nd guess any future Muji purchases. Their promotional photos even clearly displayed the white stitching over black stripe so it seems like they're fine with even letting something as locked in as advertising slip through the cracks.
I've read that they also now have a Muji "Outlet" store which also worries me that there will be more drops in quality. Only a matter of time before they become one and the same like JCrew.
