We want to vent our range hood directly out the wall of our kitchen, but having marked out the studs and the area where the duct attaches to the hood, we noticed that there is a stud which overlaps the area to the left. What are our options here? Is there any chance of getting the vent in without cutting or modifying the stud, or will we have to take it up through the cabinet above and shift it right? Alternatively, some suggestions online say to just cut the stud. The wall is an external wall, but there are no rooms above the kitchen (just unused attic space). We would still prefer not to do that, unless it’s absolutely not going to cause issues. Here is a photo where I’ve marked the stud (according to my stud finder) and also the width of the vent.http://bit.ly/2KeAoPq of range hood: http://bit.ly/2MJ6rcm help / advice is very much appreciated! via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2X8QGzn
