Hey all, I apologize if this doesn't really fit this sub, I kind of figured there miiiiight be a connection because I don't want us to have to pay for an exterminator or costly bug removal solutions.

We just moved into a loft of an old house. Beautiful home, decent condition, we've been here for not even 3 weeks. For reference, we're in Ontario, Canada. The lady before us kept it quite tidy and we've done our best, though I think leaving a granola bar wrapper hardly constitutes this friggin problem.

We have (suspected) carpenter ants. They're showing up in our bedroom, in our living room, and our hallway. Not really the kitchen, or bathroom, or our second bedroom. We had a couple wasps show up too. House centipedes and spiders have shown up, but those I can deal with. We've begun to think they're getting in through a not maintained attic. This attic has a window pane missing and was replaced with a grate type contraption.

I'm just super frustrated because both of us are on edge while we sleep. These ants show up in our bed and have bitten us both, and I just don't know what to do. Do we contact the landlord? Try to tackle it ourselves? Any advice is welcome.
