Was poking around and found that Interactive Brokers offers margin for <4% loan rate. For the average long term investor trying to earn that 7% interest over many years, why would they not take this deal? 7>4 therefore over time there is a positive expectancy. The only argument against it I can currently see is if you are worried you could not get 7% over time, which is kind of a conservative entering argument number to long term investing.
