Twitter's quarterly financials are incredible, almost reaching Amazon levels of growth.
Twitter is an institution both disrupting and informing the media. Politicians and celebrities are either bypassing the news outlets to give announcements directly to their followers, or media outlets are using tweets as their source material in their news stories. And what I find most incredible is Facebook was never able to replicate this and crush Twitter the same way they replicated Stories and pretty much ruined their other competitor Snapchat.
Twitter is politics, and while a lot of teens don't use Twitter for that reason, that doesn't matter because Twitter is now more relevant than ever, as that's one of the main ways celebrities, companies, and elected officials connect with people directly and get viral.
The brilliance of Twitter is even if you're not on it, you'll still hear about it everywhere you go. "Trump tweeted new tariffs" "Game of Thrones Starbucks cup trending on Twitter" "Elon Musk tweets, SEC investigates". And in this way like it or not, Twitter is here to stay and has accomplished a real public forum that Facebook never was able to replicate.
