Hello,Long time lurker, first time poster here.We pulled about about 800 sq ft of porcelain tile in our townhouse in one day. The tile removal was pretty easy, unfortunately most of the thinset stayed on the ground and it seems pretty thick.I spent some time using a hammer drill with a scaling chisel which was successful, albeit slow. I made the mistake of getting greedy and read online about a floor maintaner with a diamond blade makes thinset removal fast and easy. Well, it didnt do a damn thing other than "smooth" the thinset layers and really didnt seem to be getting it off. What do i do now? I have about 400 sq feet where the thinset is a gone and nice smooth concrete is showing ( from my manual hammer drill work). Do i have to remove the other remaining 400 ( where the diamond blade did nothing) if it is now much smoother and "thinner" or do i have to take off the remaining to bare concrete? if the transition between concrete and layer of thinset is not noticeable, can i just proceed to my flooring? If i have to continue removing, would a trollyjack hammer rental make it faster? Any recommendations so i dont have to do the rest with a hammerdrill? My body is destroyed already. via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2EmwAqJ
