
So I ended up doing this as a fix. The T mold rails were what was killing the project since they would not allow dry fitting for placement without destroying the t molding. Normally you can put it on top of the rails but the rocks of the fireplace made that difficult to do accurately because of the random surface to work around. I didn't want to scribe the mold if I didn't have to, just because laminate doesn't look too pretty when it's chippedI purchased 5 6/16 dowels from HD after removing the rails and glued them down with brad nails for support. Once that dried I fed the t-mold through my table saw, leaving just enough of a nub at the bottom to make the connection with the dowel and keep the top flush with the laminate. Once I was able to dry fit everything together, on went the adhesive to the dowel and transition was done.The push bar saved many opportunities to lose a finger on the table saw, never underestimate the need for one ;)Before 1Before 2After 1After 2 via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2VzHnDH
