Got my hands on a genuine one for a very small price, looks in good shapebut tag indicates this chair has one month left of the manufacturer warranty. I noted some minor issues like the back coming off from the fabric (which seems like a common issue you just have to realign with the) and a wheel caster coming off, which happened during transport when I got the chair and probably doesn't indicate any issues.
I just want to make sure I can put this thing through its paces and listen for any problems or issues and get the warranty taken care of before it expires. I ended up paying $120 cash from a furniture liquidator and while it seems that I got a great deal, remember I did just by 11 year old chair. Time will tell if this is truly buy it for life but I had the advantage of being able to sit in this and test it out for a little bit before I bought it and it seems to be as durable as all the reviews say.
if it turns out that I did indeed by a lemon or something that was just too old, hopefully I'll be able to just buy the aftermarket or replacement parts. Ultimately that will still probably be more in my favor even though the deal will not be as good.
If anyone is curious they had about 30 more if you're in the Florida area and don't mind driving.
