So I didn’t want to spend a huge deal of money out of pocket money and for a desk that didn’t fit all the needs/wants for my computer setup. I decided to build my own. I have all the wood I need: smaller pieces to make 2 box shelves and a 72” x 28” cutout of a a 1 3/4” unfinished solid core door. The main thing I am going to struggle with is applying a colored finish or design. I have no clue on how to do this but I have an idea of what I want. I want it to look kinda like this: http://bit.ly/2YRmHJL but with a shiny finish. If you could help please try to explain like I am a child because I’ve never done anything like this at all before. I’m also not dead set on a color or type of finish-I just want it looking nice enough to put a gaming computer with flashy LEDs on (maybe a futuristic look?)
