I’ve been told my contract will not be renewed for next year (I work in education). I was urged to resign, so that I would not have to explain the non-renewal to future employers. But I wouldn’t be eligible for unemployment.
I’m not certain I want to work in this industry anymore. My only child will start kindergarten in two more years, so maybe I just won’t work until then.
My husband also makes six figures. We have some debt and things would be tight, but we’d be fine if I didn’t work at all.
Any idea what I should do?
