I’m renovating a room in my basement. Years ago, before I owned the home, someone broke in and stole the copper water lines causing the basement to flood. My plan has been to just cut out the damaged plaster and replace it with drywall. But when I started ripping out the damaged plaster, it looks far more extensive than I had initially thought. In light of this issue, should I just tear down and rebuild the entire wall? Or is my original plan (and wall) salvageable? link. The house is just about 100 years old if that matters. This is an original wall.Edit: additional details. via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2VRO44n
