I've just bought a house, and on the detached garage (soon-to-be workshop), the inspector found that the brick veneer on one side is kinda...wobbly. Basically a large section (most of the 20' wall) of my brick veneer is just freestanding. You can push on it and it will move inwards.I googled it and I found "helifix," but I thought "no problem, I'll just rip out the drywall, go in there and re-tie the bricks to the studs from the inside using tapcons and either brick ties or some other cheap L-bracket. Then I can put up plywood walls anyway, which are better for a workshop.Well, we got in there and I punched a hole in the drywall only to find... cement board on the other side. I can't get to the bricks. Crap. Now I don't know what to do. If the first page of Google is to be believed, there is no such thing as a remedial brick tie or ready-made system to repair this kind of thing in the entire US&A.
