My husband’s good friend from college and his wife invited us for coffee this weekend to talk about “an amazing opportunity that’s been happening in their lives!” Obviously it sounds like some sort of MLM thing. They have a “mentor who has been teaching them how they can become financially independent and get out of the 9-5” is what he described.
Don’t know more details but we agreed to meet up with them because we miss our friends and haven’t seen them in months. Normally they are rather flaky people who, despite considering us some of their best friends, are really hard to get time with. So the fact that this is what it takes to see them reallly ticks us off.
We would like to help them realize what a red flag this is but we don’t have any experience with MLMs or talking to friends about money.
TLDR our good friends have invited us to talk about their MLM this weekend. What would you say to them?
