Cheap is not a virtue, it’s actually very much a flaw. This is a frugal forum but often times really just is an excuse for cheap people feel okay about their behavior e.g stealing napkins/plastic utensils/toilet paper, etc. this behavior is not okay and as a rule people should not strive for cheapness. It’s not something to be proud of, in fact, it inhibits our ability to function in society because most sane people find it a burden to associate with cheap people and their tendencies.
This is especially important on a forum that has the potential to cross into that line so easily. I, myself, come here to learn frugal ways, not how to be cheap, and don’t want to be conditioned into feeling like being a miser is an okay quality to have because the truth is, it’s not. Frugal is wise and cheap is a pathology. Mods should do a better job of keeping the forum true to its name.
Edit: here is a link that goes over frugal vs cheap that I agree with: https://www.investopedia.com/financial-edge/0412/how-to-tell-if-youre-cheap-or-frugal.aspx
