I’ve been to the big box stores, and not gotten a lot of answers about stain. I’m frustrated at the lack of ability to get small amounts and test the color. No Home Depot lady, I don’t want to buy a gallon just to see if I like the color.I don’t have a clue what the difference is between water based and oil based, and what’s better for a deck.Basically it’s a freestanding deck not attached to my home. It’s single level and flat with a railing around it. A couple simple steps on two sides for entry. Wood is pressure treated redwood.Yes I know the curse of posting a deck to diy.
