As a weightlifter, I eat a lot of carbs. I have rice with both lunch and dinner most days. I've always just grabbed the Uncle Bens packets since they were "cheap" and convenient. Recently I cracked down on all of my spending habits and realized how much money I was wasting on my home cooked meals. I now buy the giant generic brand bag for a couple of bucks and it lasts me 2 weeks. I have a giant container of rice always ready to go - and I'm saving $350/yeear. Thought I would share as sometimes it's the little things that are often overlooked :)
