I’ve studied a lot of economic development and have worked in a related field so I feel like I have a good grip on determining where developing countries are going, what they’re doing well, what they’re doing poorly etc.

I’d like to start looking into foreign etfs with this knowledge but have no idea how to determine what goes into an etf price. For example, India is looking up in terms of economic development but what characteristics of an etf would I look up to see if that optimism has already been priced in? I know India gets plenty of hype as the next China so how would you go about separating a value in an emerging market investment from an investment that assumes the development already?
