I’m getting married in four months. My fiancé has more than 12k in CC debt. I’ve explained to him several times how upset this makes me. We talk about paying it off. He doesn’t. But continues to want to make big purchases.
I’m not perfect, I’ve had to dig myself out of big CC debts in the past, after some irresponsible spending in my youth. But I grew up, and I did it. We are in our early 30s.
My fiancé, when I try to address the subject, says “I’ll always make more money and can pay it off in the future.” When I try to suggest that you can’t predict the future, he believes I am attacking his ability to be a provider.
Are there any links or learning materials I can share with him to illustrate how bad credit card debt is?
