I just moved into a new apartment, and the water is very hard in the area. Unfortunately, I can't install a water softener since I live in a condo type building. I asked the management company if I could, but I imagine others have asked in the past and been turned down.
Other than that, what clever fixes do you have for combatting hard water? The worst is in the shower, my skin and hair always feel dry and brittle after. I've done a lot of reading about shower heads with softening beads, but without brine to deionize the water molecules it really only works once.
For laundry and in the dishwasher, I'll definitely be adding white vinegar.
How do I keep the hard water from destroying my hair?
