I was packing to move and I didn’t think I owned a lot. The only furniture I have is my shikibuton and bedding, a cheap convertible chair, and a little tv stand I use to house random things like my space heater and lamp. All my clothes and other belongings are in a regular sized closet, not even stuffed to the brim. I only have maybe 5-7 pieces of each clothing category IIRC.

When I was done packing, I ended up with two normal sized suitcases and a whole bunch of little boxes, backpacks, and purses. I feel like it looks a lot cause it’s all in smaller containers. But I was legitimately surprised. I’m never home much cause I travel for work so I was really proud of my seemingly simple existence, but I guess I didn’t take into account things like my pantry items, utensils, and bathroom supplies.

People have commented that it’s not that much, and I know compared to many others, it’s not, cause I can fit this into a small car easily. But it definitely still makes me uneasy and I’m hoping that next time I move (god, moving sucks), I’ll have half of the items I own.
