Forgive me if this topic has already been covered. I tried searching through this sub and on google, but couldn't find a combination of words that brought up anything really relevant.

Roughly 2 weeks ago, my wife and I were recently notified by our credit card company that there was some suspicious activity on our account. Sure enough, someone had attempted to use our card to make several gas station purchases while we were both at work. I made the call to the CC company and informed them that we had not made these purchases. We did however use the card the previous day for some online shopping.

Fast forward to today, we received a notice from the CC company with a schedule of unauthorized transactions. It listed the fraudulent gas station transactions as well as the online shopping charge. Now I thought it was suspicious that the online shopping charge had not hit our account and now I why.

The fraud department is closed for the Holiday weekend so I have until Tuesday before I have to decide on anything. I'm not sure what my best course of action is. Can I be held liable for not notifying the fraud department that they made a mistake? Has anyone else here experienced anything like this?
