So I recently became friends (good friends) with the CEO of well-earning private equity firm. To keep the story short, I've known her for about 3 months now and during that time I've helped her work through various mental health issues and family problems. Now that she's doing much better, she wants to pay me back for all that with a significant amount of money (in the millions), along with various other extravagant gifts. The money and other various items are incomprehensible and would likely be unattainable in my lifetime someone middle-class like me. This person is extremely wealthy(like the 1% rich) so I don't doubt their ability to give away some of their wealth, I doubt they would even think twice about it. *(EDIT* : In fact, this person has already come through for me in paying off my student loans (almost 200k worth) and still wants to do more for me.)*
I'm however apprehensive about signing anything or accepting for fear of an ulterior motive. Is there anything I should be concerned about legally speaking? This might just me being extra paranoid but I don't want to throwaway my life for these monetary things and end up in prison or anything.
I'm happy to provide any additional info. Just looking for any input/thoughts into my situation. Thanks!
